Harry and Hanne Greaver - Artist Bios


Harry Greaver, born in Los Angeles, received his professional training at the University of Kansas (BFA and MFA) and at the Los Angeles County Art Institute. He taught in the Department of Art at the University of Maine, in Orono, from 1955 to 1966. He was Director of the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts in Michigan from 1966 to 1978.

Hanne Greaver was born in Copenhagen where she attended Denmark’s School of Arts and Crafts. She also studied in France for a year on a French government scholarship. Since coming to America in 1955, she specialized in printmaking and painting.

Hanne and Harry Greaver created the Greaver Gallery in Cannon Beach, Oregon in 1978. Their graphics, drawings and paintings have been included in national juried exhibits in the United States and Canada with over 30 two-person shows to their credit.
